Dear State Senator/Representative ______________________________,
As your constituent, I ask for your strong support for Senate Bill SD.1952 or House Bill H.1314, An Act Providing a Bill of Rights for People Experiencing Homelessness. I feel strongly about supporting this bill. The bill is currently in the committee on Housing. I would be most appreciative if you would vote yes on Bill SD.1952/H.1314.
I think that this bill is very important. Homeless people are often abused and discriminated against for something that they often cannot do much about: their insecure housing. Homeless people deserve to be treated just like any other human being. For example, homeless people deserve the right to “A reasonable expectation of privacy of personal property”, the ability to vote, even though they have experienced homelessness, and the ability to get a job, even though they don’t have a permanent address. In addition, they should have access to medical care without being discriminated against for experiencing homelessness.
Thank you for your attention and dedication to this bill. I believe it will change many people’s lives for the better. I look forward to hearing from you and your staff on the actions you plan to take in support of the rights of homeless people. I hope you will vote yes on bill number SD.1952/H.1314.
Sincerely,
